Bio

It is hard to describe in words my passion for synchro. 15 years ago I went to my first practice and now, despite demands from other areas of my life, synchro is a part of me, a wonderful, life-saving part of me that I just can't give up. Synchro is a mix of strength and creativity. It's the large creative aspect that makes this sport perfect with athletes with disability. Routines can be created to showcase abilities.
The sport of synchro continues to be developed for athletes with disabilities, as it has been largely unheard of until recently. Here in Ontario I have competed provincially with other athletes with disabilities and have performed at Nationals. 4 years ago I was invited to swim at 15th annual synchronized swimming festival for disabled swimmers in Japan. To see this sport being developed around the world is SO exciting for me. Most recently I swam with my University team and competed at the Canadian University Championships as the first ever athlete with a disability to compete. I plan to get into coaching and my dream is to see this sport enter the Paralympics.
I'd be more than happy to provide more information, just send a message!
